The design guidelines for Westmont Ridge Homeowners Association (WMR) are intended to create an
identifiable and cohesive design character by utilizing a limited vocabulary of design features that
reinforce the notion of a desirable mountain retreat – an escape from the more mundane solutions of urban
centers.
The design concept takes its inspiration from the mountain architecture tradition of the National Parks and
the heritage design tradition of the Western United States and Canadian Mountain Ranges. It will
emphasize sloping roofs, the use of wood and stone, and generally an abundant use of natural materials.
The purpose of these guidelines is to identify some of the key features of the required mountain
architecture style so they can be incorporated into individual compositions that are both unique and
conforming.
The goal is to create a warm impression of rustic and genuine residential design typical of mountain
settings. A successful design must respond favorably to the style, description and intent of these
guidelines.
